Cable Trays and Ladder System

Our GRP cable trays and non corrosive ladders is a custom-made modular system. It is especially developed as a mechanical support for cables and tubing.

We can supply our cable tray solution and non corrosive ladders in various shapes, sizes, depending on the project. Typically, cable ladders and cubing and tubing covers are used in industrial spaces or in the basements etc, which are not public areas. They are especially suited for electrical, instrumentation and telecommunications cables. Cubing and tubing covers can also be provided specifically to protect cabling against UV rays, water etc.

Whereas traditionally, materials like concrete, steel, aluminum and timber have only one strength, FRP has several advantages. As a result, it is a very cost-effective solution. In many cases, FRP can also replace steel as a non-corrosive, yet structurally sound, construction material.

Our cable trays and ladder systems are made from combining fiberglass and resins that are resistant to corrosion, fire, and electrical conductivity – making them ideal for use in a variety of industries including chemical plants, oil, gas and water treatment facilities, and offshore platforms. The modular design of our FRP cable trays and ladder also makes them easy to install and modify, allowing them to be customized to meet your specific needs of a project.

What are the benefits?

There are numerous benefits to installing cable tray and ladder systems – including:

  • These mechanical support systems are significantly lighter than traditional metal systems which makes them easier to handle, transport and install
  • Non-conductive – making them suitable for use in areas where electrical interference is a concern
  • The Cable Trays are easy to install
  • Materials are highly resistant to corrosion, which makes them ideal for use in environments where metal systems may corrode and degrade over time
  • These products are fire-resistant, which means they will not ignite or contribute to the spread of flames in the event of a fire.

Where do you use Cable tray and ladder systems?

GRP Cable trays and ladder systems are used in various industries to manage and support cables and wires, including:

Application:

  • Transportation
  • Building, Construction & Infrastructure
  • Energy Industry
  • Oil and Gas
  • Wind Industry
  • Telecommunication

  • Many more …
Reducing accidents – statistics

Accidents due to a lack of proper cable trays and ladder mechanical support systems can be severe and potentially life-threatening. Here are the risks associated with inadequate cable management:

  • Tripping hazards – Cables that are not properly supported can become a tripping hazard, especially in areas where people are walking or working. This can lead to falls and injuries.
  • Fire hazards – Cables that are not properly managed can create a fire hazard particularly in areas with high temperatures or where flammable materials are present.
  • Electrical hazards – Cables that are not properly supported can become damaged or exposed, creating an electrical hazard that can result in electric shock, burns or electrocution.
  • Structural damage – Cables that are not supported can put undue stress on the structures they are attached to, which can potentially cause structural damage and compromise the safety of the building or equipment.
  • Collapse – Cable ladders that are not properly supported can collapse, causing a person on the ladder to fall and potentially causing injury to nearby people.

Companies that fail to provide adequate cable trays and ladder system support can face serious consequences both in terms of the safety of their workers and in terms of legal and financial liability – including:

  • Lawsuits
  • Regulatory Fines and Penalties
  • Damage Reputation

How do I install a cable tray and ladder system?

Installation of FRP cable trays and ladders:

Always observe common safety practices when assembling trays and fittings in the field.

  • Assemble in well ventilated areas as dust from field cuts can accumulate. This presents no serious health hazard but can cause skin irritation and, if allowed to accumulate with grease and other machining lubricants, can become abrasive.
  • Personnel should wear safety goggles, dust mask, coveralls or a shop coat when sawing, machining and/or sanding.
  • Avoid generating excessive heat in any machining operation, as heat softens the bonding resin in the fiber- glass, resulting in a ragged rather than a clean-cut edge.
  • Avoid excessive pressure when sawing, drilling, and routing, etc. Use carbide-tipped drill bits and saw blades for extended tool life.
  • The use of lubricant during machining is not recommended.
  • To avoid chipping of material at cut edges, secure cable tray and fittings properly during field cut operations.
  • We recommend the use of sealant for sealing surfaces and cut edges after field cuts are made. When using adhesives, be sure to prepare the surface properly before applying. Follow label instructions carefully.
  • A combination of mechanical fasteners and adhesives make the strongest most reliable connections.

Warning

Not to be used as a walkway, ladder or support for personnel. To be used only as a mechanical support for cable and tubing

How do I maintain and clean the systems?

FRP cable trays and ladders are easily cleaned by high-pressure water or steam – or just a normal broom.

How long do cable tray and ladder systems last?

All our products come with a minimum 10 year guarantee

What is the cost?

This depends on the project, transport and implementation. Contact us for a quote

Is it a sustainable product?

Real Safety´s solutions for cable trays and ladder systems are made from high quality composite materials. Composites are materials made up of at least two different component materials, neither of which are well suited for construction purposes on their own. Combined materials however, are very sturdy and firm.

Fibre Reinforced Plastic/ Glass Fibre Reinforced plastic is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibers. The fibers are usually fiberglass, carbon, or aramid, while the polymer is usually an epoxy, vinylester or polyester thermosetting plastic.

Features of FRP material:

  • Corrosion and chemical resistance
  • High strength to weight ratio
  • Electric and thermal non conductive
  • EMI/RFI transparent
  • Less environmental impact
  • Long life cycle
  • Superior ergonomics
  • Good aesthetics
  • UV stable
  • Fire retardant

Real Safety safety solutions for stairway and ladder system environments are non-conductive and have low thermal conductivity, making them suitable for use in areas where electrical or thermal hazards are present.

They are also resistant to corrosion, moisture, chemicals making them ideal for use in hard environments.

How to choose the right cable trays and ladder system ?

Choosing the right cable trays and ladder system depends on several factors, including the specific applications, environment, load requirements and installation considerations. Here are some general guidelines to help you choose the right FRP cable trays and ladder system:
